Karen was born in Ogden and has been involved with music since she was 7 years old, which is when she started playing piano. Throughout her time with T.H. Bell Jr. High and Bonneville High School, Karen also participated in the band and choir programs, all while pursuing her love of piano. After graduation, she attended WSC where she majored in Music.
Karen has continued her involvement in music as a church organist, choir director and accompanist, and is currently a member of her community choir. Her love of piano is still just as strong, too, and she has been spreading that love to countless students over her more than 40 years as a piano teacher. Karen has worked in music retail for 25 years and is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to all piano music. Looking for a specific, obscure piece? Karen is who you want on your side trying to find it!
As important as music is, family takes the top spot. Karen is a loving mother of 5 and a grandmother to 12! In her free time, you can find Karen crafting or doing puzzles. On the weekends though, she’ll be with her husband, Trent, out in nature and trying to find a part of Utah they have yet to explore!
